Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages (0.6fte) at Bishop Luffa School

Required from September 2026 we are seeking to appoint a dynamic and forward-thinking Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages (MFL). The successful applicant will be passionate about languages and truly believe that it is the most important subject on the curriculum. Our vision is that every child experiences ‘life in all its fullness’, so they will see learning a foreign language as an essential part of a full life.
We are looking for someone who has able to teach Key Stage 3-5 in French or Spanish, and a willingness to teach Latin at Key Stage 3, and is innovative, creative and passionate about languages.
The successful candidate will love the challenge of working with teenagers and committed to supporting them to be creative, reflective and resilient learners. They will share our aspiration to help realise the school's vision 'Always our best because everyone matters'. This role would suit an experienced teacher or equally, a strong ECT.
All of our teachers are also tutors. We have a strong House system and we will be looking to recruit someone who will be an asset to the House that they join.

This role would suit an experienced teacher or equally, a strong ECT.

Required from 1st September 2026 to 28th February 2027, we are seeking to appoint a dynamic and forward-thinking Teacher of English.
We are looking for someone able to teach Key Stage 3-5, who is innovative, creative and passionate about English. The successful applicant will love the challenge of working with teenagers and committed to supporting them to reach their potential. They will deliver high quality rigorous lessons that inspire a love of English amongst all students, which extends beyond the classroom. The English Faculty has a track-record of providing a broad experience for students. As well as securing excellent outcomes, the department prides itself on the variety of trips and competitions that students are able to access. This would suit an experienced teacher or an ECT.

Higher Level Teaching Assistant at Bishop Luffa School - Launchpad

Bishop Luffa School are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and resourceful person in the role of Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) based at Launchpad, Lavant. The successful candidate will support teaching and learning within Launchpad, a Key Stage 4 alternative provision setting, by leading specific curriculum areas, delivering targeted interventions and providing in class support for students. The HLTA will play a key role in promoting student progress, engagement and wellbeing through a proactive and responsive approach, supporting positive outcomes for learners with diverse and often complex needs.
This exciting and rewarding role requires someone who:
- has high standards and takes pride in the quality of their work
- is able to work effectively in a team
- enjoys making a real difference to students’ learning
- is patient, flexible, adaptable and able to show initiative
The post requires excellent communication skills, a good general educational background and the ability to work in partnership with teachers. We would like applicants to have HLTA status, or a willingness to work towards HLTA status. IT skills would be an advantage.
Many of our previous post holders have utilised the post to develop experience in the education sector before progressing to PGCE courses, educational psychology and working within educational charities.
